These are extraordinary times. We hope that you feel the presence of God in your life, and the comfort of Jesus, during this experience.
We wanted to share what we’re doing in our office, in light of COVID-19.
First, and most importantly: we will continue to mentor our students unless Canada Post stops carrying mail, or unless we are otherwise prohibited from doing so by law. In these uncertain times, we believe that people need to hear about Jesus more than ever — especially those in prisons, where medical treatment for COVID-19 is less accessible than it is for the rest of us.
We are working remotely from our homes, and none of us are in physical contact with each other. We are still receiving and processing mail. All our staff and contractors continue to receive the same wages, and we have not laid off any of our staff.
The amount of mail that our office receives over the next few weeks may vary significantly. Each institution will deal with the outbreak in their own individual manner. If you are a mentor, and you do not receive a lesson for a week or two, there is no need to be concerned.
We continue to ask that our supporters and mentors pray for chaplains and students, especially during this pandemic.
You can continue to support our ministry at https://cpministries.ca/donate/. Our ministry continues to rely on the support of people like you. That has never been more true than it is today.
While many of our social gatherings and events may be cancelled, remember that the love Jesus has for us is not. Like our public health authorities, we ask that you join us in flattening this curve and minimizing your contact with others. If we don’t hold each other today, we can continue holding each other tomorrow.
Praying blessing and peace during this tumultuous time.
